Cruising is an endurance training application operated by HeroTools Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Cruising application and related services (the "Service").
This Privacy Policy applies only to the Cruising product.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we may collect information such as your email address and authentication details.
Activity and Performance Data
With your explicit authorization, we collect activity data from third-party providers such as Garmin Connect and Strava. This may include distance, duration, pace/speed, elevation gain/loss, heart rate, training load and related performance metrics, GPS route data, timestamps, activity type, and workout metadata. We only access data that you authorize through the relevant provider authorization flow.
Device and Usage Information
We may collect technical and usage information such as device identifiers, IP address, browser type, and in-app events to help operate, secure, and improve the Service.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies or similar technologies (including analytics tools) to understand usage and improve the Service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide the Service and maintain your account; display completed workouts within the app; compare planned workouts with completed sessions; calculate training load trends and progression metrics; generate training insights and adaptive recommendations based on your activity data; improve reliability, performance, and security; and respond to support requests.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not resell raw Garmin or Strava data.
We do not publicly expose your private activity data.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA and UK Users)
If you are located in the EEA or UK, we process your information based on:
- Your consent - for third-party integrations such as Garmin and Strava.
- Performance of a contract - to provide the Service.
- Legitimate interests - service improvement, security, fraud prevention, and reliability.
You may withdraw consent at any time by disconnecting your Garmin or Strava integration or by contacting us.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information.
We may share information with service providers who help operate the Service (for example, cloud hosting, database, monitoring, and analytics providers) under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
5. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, unless we are required to retain certain information for legal, security, or operational purposes.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to certain processing, or request portability of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us via the Service or through the contact details listed on cruising.run. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident that materially affects your personal information, we will take appropriate steps to notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
8. International Data Transfers
Cruising is used globally. Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we rely on approved transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful safeguards.
9. Children's Privacy
Cruising is not intended for individuals under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
