Cruising is an endurance training application operated by HeroTools Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Cruising application and related services (the "Service").
This Privacy Policy applies only to the Cruising product.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we may collect information such as your email address and authentication details.
Training and Connected Provider Data
If you connect services such as Strava or Garmin Connect, we may receive activity, training, and related profile information that you authorize through those services. The information available to us depends on the provider and the permissions you grant.
Device and Usage Information
We may collect technical and usage information such as device identifiers, IP address, browser type, and in-app events to help operate, secure, and improve the Service.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies or similar technologies to operate the Service, understand usage, improve performance, and maintain security.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to create and manage your account; provide training planning, coaching, reporting, and activity features; sync data from connected providers you choose to authorize; personalize your experience; respond to support requests; troubleshoot, secure, and maintain the Service; and analyze usage, improve performance, and develop features.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not publicly expose your private activity data through Cruising without your direction or permission.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA and UK Users)
If you are located in the EEA or UK, we process your information based on:
- Your consent - for third-party integrations such as Garmin and Strava.
- Performance of a contract - to provide the Service.
- Legitimate interests - service improvement, security, fraud prevention, and reliability.
You may withdraw consent at any time by disconnecting your Garmin or Strava integration or by contacting support.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information.
We may share information with service providers who help us host, secure, support, analyze, and operate the Service under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
We may share information with connected providers or other third parties when you request, authorize, or direct us to do so.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, and satisfy legal, accounting, security, and recordkeeping obligations. If you disconnect a linked provider or request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify applicable personal data within a reasonable period, subject to any retention required by law.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to certain processing, or request portability of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact support. You may also withdraw consent for a linked provider at any time by disconnecting the integration or revoking access through the provider settings. 7. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident that materially affects your personal information, we will take appropriate steps to notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
8. International Data Transfers
Cruising is used globally. Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we rely on approved transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful safeguards.
9. Children's Privacy
Cruising is not intended for individuals under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
